Lizardland was the second release for Adelaide-based duo Puppethead, released on the German Zuma label in 1996. Recorded over several sessions in Adelaide in 1995-1996, it indicated a shift away from the drum-machine dominated debut to live drums and guitars. Recorded entirely by Greg Vincent and Peter Long, with additional guest 'head' Andy 'Spy' Przygonski on Court Jester, Lizardland retained the home-made aesthetic of their debut, with addition of acoustic instruments on tracks such as Steel Voodoo and Cellar, giving the album a more relaxed atmosphere.

Greg Vincent: vocals, harmony vocals, bass, 12 string guitar, electric guitar on Court Jester, Reduction & Faces In The Dark, slide guitar.
Peter Long: lead vocals on Reduction and Ride, harmony vocals, electric guitar, drum and percussion, mandolin, bass and drum programming on Reduction and Ride.

As a predominantly guitar-based duo, Ashram Poets was the duo's foray into electro-pop and ultimately their final project, with Greg passing away in 2021.
